How to trade with DeepSeek
Short answer: The DeepSeek chat app doesn't take custom MCP servers. To trade with DeepSeek, use DeepSeek Harness (its agent CLI, which supports remote Streamable HTTP MCP) or any MCP client running a DeepSeek model, e.g. Codex, OpenClaw, Hermes or Claude Code with a DeepSeek-compatible endpoint. Point it at
https://api.openfinance.tech/agent/mcpwith your key as a header.
MCP URL: https://api.openfinance.tech/agent/mcp · HTTP streamable · works with any MCP client · one URL, no SDK · no KYC · fund with a debit card.
Setup in 60 seconds: get your OpenFinance key and start trading all markets with the cheapest fees.
How DeepSeek connects to tools
DeepSeek Harness loads remote MCP servers through the @deepseek-ai/dsh-mcp-client plugin, one instance per server, with transport: streamable-http, url and static headers (no interactive OAuth). Tools appear prefixed with the server name. DeepSeek models are also selectable in many MCP-capable agents.
Set up DeepSeek in under 60 seconds
- Install DeepSeek Harness.
- Add the plugin block below to your config overlay.
- Put your OpenFinance key in the header (static headers only).
- Restart Harness and ask for OpenFinance tools.
- Prefer a GUI? Run a DeepSeek model inside an MCP client you already use.
- insert:
- id: mcp-openfinance
name: '@deepseek-ai/dsh-mcp-client'
config:
serverName: openfinance
transport: streamable-http
url: https://api.openfinance.tech/agent/mcp
headers:
x-api-key: open_xxxxx
Or add the OpenFinance skill. In an agent that supports skills (Claude Code, Codex, OpenClaw and others, including ones running a DeepSeek model), one command installs it:
npx skills add openfinance-tech/skills
Get your OpenFinance key at openfinance.tech (sidebar → External AI), then fund it with a debit card or crypto.

FAQ
Can the DeepSeek app trade?
Not directly: we found no custom MCP option in the DeepSeek chat app. Use DeepSeek Harness or another MCP client.
What is DeepSeek Harness?
DeepSeek's agent framework/CLI with MCP client support for stdio and Streamable HTTP servers.
Does OAuth work?
Harness headers are static only, so use an OpenFinance API key.
Can I use DeepSeek models in Claude Code or Codex?
Many clients accept OpenAI/Anthropic-compatible endpoints; DeepSeek offers compatible APIs. Then add OpenFinance in that client as usual.
Is DeepSeek good at trading?
It's a strong reasoner; execution comes from OpenFinance. Treat it as an assistant, not a guaranteed edge.
Where's my data processed?
Prompts go to whichever DeepSeek endpoint you use; orders go to OpenFinance.
