How to trade with Muse (Meta)

Short answer: Muse can trade once you give it the OpenFinance MCP server as a custom connector. Ask Muse in chat to create a connector for https://api.openfinance.tech/agent/mcp (remote Streamable HTTP), approve the sign-in, and Muse can chart, buy and sell crypto, onchain stocks like TSLA and NVDA, forex, memecoins and Polymarket odds from the Muse app, the web or WhatsApp.

MCP URL: https://api.openfinance.tech/agent/mcp · HTTP streamable · works with any MCP client · one URL, no SDK · no KYC · fund with a debit card.

Setup in 60 seconds: get your OpenFinance key and start trading all markets with the cheapest fees.

How Muse connects to tools

Muse runs in Meta's cloud, so it only reaches public HTTPS MCP servers (no localhost). Meta documents two kinds of connectors: built-in ones (Gmail, Slack, Notion) and custom connectors, which you create by asking Muse in a chat. Third-party guides also describe a Settings → Connectors entry; Meta's help leads with the chat flow. Keys go into Muse's Secure Credentials Store, not the chat. Meta does not review custom connectors.

Set up Muse in under 60 seconds

  1. Open Muse (app, muse web or WhatsApp) and start a new chat.
  2. Paste the connector message below.
  3. When Muse asks, sign in to OpenFinance (OAuth) or paste your OpenFinance API key into the secure credentials prompt, never into the chat.
  4. Say “list the OpenFinance tools” to test, then “save this connector as a skill” so Muse reuses it.
  5. In Settings, set the connector's approval policy so every order asks you first.
Create a Custom Connector for a new remote MCP server, then connect to it:
Name: OpenFinance
Transport: remote streamable HTTP
URL: https://api.openfinance.tech/agent/mcp
Auth: OAuth (or API key sent as the x-api-key header)

Get your OpenFinance key at openfinance.tech (sidebar → External AI), then fund it with a debit card or crypto.

What Muse can trade through OpenFinance

Muse can trade crypto spot and leveraged perps on Hyperliquid, onchain stocks such as TSLA and NVDA, forex, Solana and Base memecoins, and Polymarket prediction markets, all with one OpenFinance key. The full market list is on the hub page.

Prompts to try in Muse

  • “What's moving on Base today? Show me the top 3 and buy $25 of the one with the most volume.”
  • “Chart TSLA over 30 days and buy with 3x margin, stop loss 8% below.”
  • “Buy $50 of NVDA stock token and $50 of AAPL.”
  • “Long BTC 5x with $100 on Hyperliquid and tell me my liquidation price.”
  • “Ape $20 into the trending Solana memecoin, but skip anything launched in the last hour.”
  • “What are the Polymarket odds on the next US election? Bet $10 on the favorite.”

FAQ

Can Muse trade crypto?
Yes, once OpenFinance is added as a custom connector. Muse then calls OpenFinance tools to quote, place and cancel orders on Hyperliquid, Solana, Base, Robinhood Chain and Polymarket.

Does it work in WhatsApp?
Meta's help says custom connectors can be created from Muse on the web, the iOS and Android apps and WhatsApp. Trading then works wherever that Muse account runs.

Why won't Muse connect to a local MCP server?
Muse connects from Meta's cloud, so the server must be public HTTPS. OpenFinance is hosted at api.openfinance.tech, so there's nothing to run locally.

Does Meta see my trades?
Meta runs Muse, so your chat and tool calls pass through Meta. Meta does not review custom connectors. Read Meta's connector terms before trading.

Where does my API key go?
Into Muse's Secure Credentials Store when Muse prompts for it. Never paste it in the chat. Create a key named “Muse” so you can revoke it on its own.

Will Muse place trades without asking?
Set the connector approval policy in Settings so orders need your confirmation. OpenFinance order tools also ask for explicit confirmation.

Is the Muse in the screenshot on openfinance.tech real?
It shows OpenFinance scanning markets inside Muse. Results depend on live data.
